The wood and the shape were inspired by Traditional Japanese designs.  Size:  125mm wide x 75mm high.  Finish:  Danish Oil.

 Large Ancient Kauri Bowl sourced from Takanini which has a richness and chatoyance that a photo doesn't do any justice.  280mm dia.  Almost too nice to use for those summer salads.

"As Nature Intended" is made from Spalted Oak, turned to highlight the grain and left with some natural features, measuring 155 x 80mm finished with sanding sealer and beall buffed.  

This wood was pulled from a river in the Central North Island where it had fallen decades earlier.  This has caused the colours to be a lot more distinct.  Size:  145mm wide x 80mm high.  Finish:  Danish Oil

This wood was taken from a fallen tree that was saved from a river in the Central North Island.  Size:  125mm wide x 70mm high.  Finish:  Danish Oil.

Bowl made of European Pear.  Finished with Carnauba wax.  Diameter 210mm, height 45mm

Ancient swamp Kauri, having been buried for up to 50000 years, now brings light to a bowl, inspired by Japanese form with a narrow foot, and a polished wax finish that highlights the woods natural beauty.   Dimensions 150mm x 100mm high

"Burlesque" Burled Cypress concaved deep rimmed bowl, turned nice and thin with 6mm walls from top to bottom, finished off with Boiled Linseed oil then Tripoli and Carnauba wax buffed to seal off to a satin finish, 250mm diam x 100mm H.

A plain bowl with undercut rim turned from Tasmanian Blackwood, with a wax finish. Five branches converged into what was the centre of the bowl, creating an interesting turning experience and some stunning grain patterns. Size: 215mm x 90mm

Camphor platter. 180mm x 35mm. Sanded to 400 grit. Finished with spray lacquer 30% gloss.

Macrocarpa bowl. 140mm x 65mm. Sanded to 400 Grit. Sealed with nitrocellulose sanding sealer. Finished with Spray lacquer 30% gloss.

A 385mm diameter pohutukawa bowl.  Finished with Haarlem Danish oil and satin lacquer.

Made of Trident Maple and finished with Sanding Sealer and Beall Buffed.  Heart and soul measures 145mm x 45mm  depicting love...Love for the tree, the wood and life. 

"Island Time;" is made from Manuka sourced from Kawau Island after a storm and measures 180mm x 70mm.  It is finished with Sanding Sealer and Beall Buffed to a high gloss.

A small Kauri lipped bowl, measuring 175mm wide by 70mm high. This piece, an image of the mother bowl, is of bowl saved timber from the mother bowl. The friction wax finish issues forth the golden glow within the timber.
