Portion of a recycled Rimu timber kitchen bench top. Now a simple yet elegant platter measuring 270mm wide by 35mm high.  The friction wax finish draws out the diverse rich natural colors.

Spalted bowl

The timber is Spalted Boxelder Maple (Acer negundo). size- Top external Diam 248mm, Base diam 145mm, Height 108mm, depth of bowl 85mm. The bowl was finished with a sanding sealer and then two applications of bee's wax buffed with a dry cloth. I like the effect of the Spalting and how it makes the bowl attractive.
